Every year, I am caught by surprise at this whole “getting dark at 5pm” thing. Winter means more walking around when it’s dark but people are still awake, which means a lot of illuminated diorama-like scenes in second story windows. They never fail to make me think of this video.

Also, does MTV, like, give money to artists whose videos are watched on MTV.com? Because you can watch this video over there, and maybe Ted Leo will receive 3/10ths of a cent. Or you can watch it on Youtube, which is probably quasi-illegal but has a much easier to handle interface. Your choice!

Also also, what the heck is Ted v1 eating at Ray’s with a fork? Surely he does not eat his pizza with a fork!

Not even the death of Ted Kennedy will wrest the love of “Chappaquiddick” from the hands and mouths of conservative pundits. If there is a hands-on Supreme Being, then surely he is a Republican: think of how much less mileage people could’ve gotten with “Dennis” or “Newport” or “Cape Cod” had something tragic happened there.

Though looking again at a map, the Massachusetts Bay Colony picked some truly amazing names: Mashpee, Buzzards Bay, Makonikey, West Barnstable, Gay Head, Cuttyhunk… some of those would’ve been even better words to reflexively shriek every time Teddy (or now, apparently global warming or health care) are mentioned. I suppose that means the jury is still out on God!

Also, it goes without saying this is one of the worst mixed metaphors in a field chock full of them.
